The word that I got is that Hero received a C&D from Hasbro, and therefore shut it down until further notice.

Well pass around that this can act as a temparary fix until things get back up and running. Also, unless you tell me no, I am goin to add you as a mod on this site as well. The admin stuff is fairly easy to figure out. If you register that is.....

This is a pretty big fat bummer. I understand, especially as I know Hero has a lot of things to be more concerned with. I hope Hasbro pulls back and lets him start up again.

The merchandise probably was the reason. I am pretty upset about the whole thing myself. .

Greetings. Definitely a sad day for HS fans. Plus all of the messages, ideas and information lost. I'm glad I have a lot of stuff saved on my hard drive.

I would bet it was a number of things, but the merch may have been the last straw. I've requested from hero the custom unit cards if he can. I can probably find a way to host them, or some anyway.

Damn, I feel like part of my world just crashed right before my eyes. We gotta set something up. What if we just remove the store?

This is indeed a sad day for the community. I started using the site around the end of november of last year and kept up with what was going on on a day to day basis. Hopefully we will be able to reunite the whole community somewhere for the longhaul.

What we do is band together and build a new site. The new site could tiptoe around the legal quagmire that Hero got involved in, by keeping its distance from the Hasbro people.

Any news on whether Hero is still going to get the news and info from Gencon? It sounds like BoardgameGeek would probably be the best place to put any news coverage for all to see.

I agree....heroscape.net was a daily ritual for me. There's a void inside me right now.

Well we can certainly build a new site but wouldn't it be easier to just remove the parts of .net that offended Hasbro.
Speaking of Hasbro, I don't mean to bitch and I don't do it that often but WTF? We are the hardcore fans. We're the ones who are pimping heroscape to our friends and attracting new players to the game. I find it pretty F'd up that they'd stomp on us like this.
