Have yet to purchase this game. What is the distance across a single hex?

I don't quite understand your question ... they are designed to scale for the figures which are appx. 25mm scale.

Malechi> I got this one, I think he wants the most complicated answer possible.
Religion:
The distance across a heroscape hex is one movement space to tread across it. Or if you are flying it is one movement space to fly across it. Water hex? You got it, one movement space as well to swim it's length. But please wait an hour after eating or one complete turn when entering water spaces to avoid cramps (Venoc Vipers exempt).
Unless you are using the metric system of course, then you have to use the conversion tables which will be posted sometime in the near future. For now remember the simple formula:
1 space = 1 movement point = 1 minute of my life wasted answering this question.
