OK, in all fairness, there was some wicked blatant IP infringement. I was actually making (but not selling) compatible terrain. We had a store where you could purchase stuff related to the game. We had repurposed many of the original figures, complete with new cards and paint jobs. There were other things that an over-reactive legal dude might think was dangerous to HeroScape's future sales. A mild request from Hasbro might have been in order.
We also don't know exactly what they told Hero - it might have been a simple 'too much' and Hero decided to shut down just to be safe. I know it's strange to see me taking up for them, but I've had lunch and some nicotine gum, and I'm feeling a little more charitable. I'm still mad, and I'm still not sure I want to be in on this game any more, but I don't think it's worth calling them monsters. I'm not exactly retracting 'villains' just yet, though.

Yep, you're correct. Cut into that corporate bottom line and the legal department will be paying you a visit. To them HeroScape isn't a game.
