Malechi> I agree the war went well until Bush appeared on the aircraft carrier "mission accomplished" indeed. As for Katrina, I see nothing but the usual humanistic hypocrisy. People going out of their way offering donations to help return people to the ghettos and fringes of society from whence they came as soon as possible. All because it is the trendy thing to do, not because they actually "care". Their caring runs no deeper than the magnetic plastic surface of a "support our troops" ribbon stuck on a gas guzzling hum vee, packed with foreign oil.
Now to make it heroscape related. Umm. I know. There are actually suicidal bombers in heroscape but they are the new deathwalker 7000 droids that are one coat of paint away from copyright infringement from Lucasfilm. Remember the super battle droids from Clone with squat little heads, beefy physiques and shot stuff out of their wrist? Well apparently now they explode as well. God, I can't imagine I wrote all of this about a plastic toy...I need a drink.
Krug> I know what you are saying, personally I think all heroscape sites should consist entirely of more one sentence testimonials about how much everyone is self pleasuring at the mere mention of the upcoming snow pieces...
"Snow pieces, snow pieces. Oh, ohh ohhh, snow pieces!"
There, happy?

Then we are in agreement, of sorts. The landing on the aircraft carrier marked the end of the war and the start of the police action. And we have been hurting with nearly every action we have taken, except those where we are actually taking the offensive. As for Katrina (here is where I a going to sound very cold hearted), why is it that so many people stayed with plenty of warning? And, why among those that stayed is it that so many were gun toting gang members? I live in California and I have never been in a hurricane, but even I know when you here a category 5 hurricane is coming your way it is not something you stick around for!
The Deathwalker 7000 is indeed a suicide bomber, of sorts, but I don't see it as having any take on a real suicide bomber. Similarities between existing characters whether real or fictional and the HeroScape Army units is inevitable. I mean without some similarities would you really play where your choices were a Floungh, a Morshnu and a Dreander?

Malechi> Ever wonder what it would look like if God flushed his toilet? Prolly alot litke the New Orleans affair. And this statement has nothing to do with race. A lot of people stayed behind to loot and cause problems for the national guard and they should have known better. Natural selection is alive and well, trying to weed out people too stupid to ignore category 4 storms from our gene pool. It's a good thing. Somewhere along the line with all our welfare, social programs and charity we seem to have forgotten that life just isn't fair for all people all of the time.
The deathwalker is a suicide bomber in every sense but the name; done in a fashion that will not offend parent-teacher groups. If they even used the word SUICIDE bomber on a piece, odds are it would never see the light of day, because it implies the deliberate self cessation of a living thing (Not the stuff of family values and kid's play).
But by making the piece into a machine, a souless robot in fact who doesn't "live" in the first place and changing the attack from suicide bomber to the euphemistically titled "Self-destruct" you get a piece that still kills all adjacent pieces, but doesn't offend the religious right conservatives who still weild a lot of power in the country especially when it comes to banning books, movies and games for depicting non-christian values.
Now as for originality, I still say that every heroscape figure I have seen has either been inspired by history books or lifted from some other fictional universe. But the artists know just how much to change to make it legally viable so if George Lucas aint suing, (and he loves to sue) then anything I say about any of the matters discussed above would be as stupid, as ireelevant to real life issues as if I were to comment "Hey, I never knew there was a heroscape animated series?"
